FRIPP has been awarded the Class A Certificate for EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) by SEPA (State Environmental Protection Administration). FRIPP has a specialized department for EIA and a group of technical personnel engaged in EIA. So far, there are 12 people who have passed the examination and granted EIA On-the-job Training Certificate issued by SEPA and Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) of Liaoning Province respectively.
Since 1980s, FRIPP has finished EIA for 30-odd large and medium scale national/ministerial construction projects. The EIA reports have passed appraisal by experts of SEPA and local EPA and provided technological support on environmental protection of the projects.
In 1999-2000, FRIPP, in cooperation with EXXON Singapore Yinglian Company, Liaoning Engineering Exploration Institute, and Jinzhou Petrochemical Company, carried out EIA for Jinzhou Jinglian Lubricant Additives Company (co-owned by EXXON Singapore Yinglian Company and Jinzhou Petrochemical Company) fully according to the procedures and standards of EPA and ASTM, which is the first time in China. The EIA result was accepted by both sides, which showed that FRIPP’s EIA activity has expanded from Governmental Environmental Protection to commercial environmental protection area.
