| Abstract |
| A process
for preparing high-purity monochloroacetic acid includes the
monochloroacetic acid product containing dichloroacetic acid (10
ppm-2 wt.%) and acetic acid (0-5 wt.%) is hydrogenated at 100-188
deg.C and atomspheric pressure-100 KPa in the presence of catalyst
composed of carrier (activated carbon or SiO2) and Pd (0.1-3 wt.%)
several times. The content of dichloroacetic acid in its refined
product is minimal. | |
