Prof. Ding has been engaged in the research on inorganic coating materials and made pioneering contributions to the plasma spraying equipment with its technological applications in China. He has worked on the composition, process, properties, structure and application bases of plasma sprayed coating for several decades and won totally 17 research achievements, among them 12 were awarded by National Scientific Commission, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ministries, Provinces and Cities as well. He successfully prepared various special coating systems, characterized with thermal barrier, wear resistance, biological compatibility and infrared radiation. Several coating materials have been widely used in industry, defense and other fields. |
